Now Playing: The Decemberists, "The Picaresque", "Eli, The Barrow Boy".
Yesterday evening was Noah B.'s ordination service in Enid.
Because delegates from presbytery were coming down early to interview a candidate for the pastorate in Sterling, we planned to leave for Enid at a quarter past twelve. In the afternoon, while my parents were sitting in on the interview, Missy and I went to a coffee shop together. We arrived back at the Christian highschool where the service was to be held "just in time to do nothing". When the meeting with the candidate ended, the delegates came out, and we served them tea.
The ordination service began at half six. It was a very formal service, with plenty of steps to go through, but everyone seemed very happy. Afterward, Noah cut the cake with wee Katie's help, and everyone stayed for the session. Some of the guys immediately took Noah's new frisbee outside to play a game, though the evening was very windy. The big red moon was rising quickly over the trees as we carried the leftover food to the car.
Photos from the event are here.
The day he's been looking forward to for such a long time finally arrived :)
