Last, here are some pictures of the musem's grounds. The view of the museum itself is from its back, where it looks out over acres of landscape. There's a really lovely walk between great, pale purple drifts of salvia. Butterflies and bees hovered over the flowers. On the lawns under the trees, there were pieces of "public art", stranded like metal leaves in the grass. Most of them weren't very aesthetically pleasing, at least to our tastes. My mother pointed out that the retaining wall along the shallow creek was much more artful, being carefully constructed, than the random chunks of metal dotting the grass.
