Greetings and salutations to my reading audience. This is your host, Frodo Baggins, speaking, and with me is my special guest, Samwise Gamgee. We will be departing from the usual tradition of this blog and doing something, well, rather less than philosophical.
Bwahahahaha....
Our evil plan is working! You are sitting here and reading this mindless post.
Bwahahahaha....
We have even more evil plans up our sleeves. We are not going to tell you what they are. They might involve playing practical jokes, which might involve putting snakes in people's dressers, and which might involve putting Kool-aid in the showerhead so that you come out of your shower smelling like strawberries, but hey, none of this is for certain yet. Have we mentioned that our church's summer intern is staying at my (Frodo's) house?
Last night, we watched "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty", which explains the title of this post. My cat Mandy was scared of the badguy. He was positively slimy, maybe even more slimy than Gollum.
Right now we are touring the world by looking through Brother2's Geography textbook. We do school in the summer, you see. Or rather, Samwise and my siblings do. I am going to college next fall, so I can't do school very well. *smirk*
Yesterday we went to a beef cooking class. We cooked beef. Novel, no? At a beef cooking class, we cooked beef. It tasted fairly good. Most of the time. Until the sewers in the kitchen decided to revolt. *hem hem* Things were a bit hot for a bit, and rather stinky, too. More than just "rather" stinky. What made it worse was the fact that the kitchen was on the county fairgrounds, in a building that's right next door to the livestock barns. Think cows, horses, pigs, sheep.... Yes, we had quite an odiferous time of it. Thankfully, the dish Frodo was making had strong-smelling pineapple in it, so she couldn't smell the stench very well.
As for Sam, her dish was the fragrant aroma of sloppy joes.
A funny thing about those sloppy joes, we made a never-ending batch. It was supposed to serve four, but it served fourteen buns. We don't know how...
Boromir was there, too. (How Boromir managed to get into a cooking class we cannot fathom, but anyway....) He got do do the grilling. Once again, Denethor should've been there, to take warning.
Barbque!
Right now we are sitting groggily at the computer, blinking like owls in the daylight. For some odd reason, we didn't go to bed until midnight last night. Funny about that....
So far we have: rolled out of bed (more like crawled), gotten dressed, brushed our hair, eaten breakfast, taken a walk, and got on the internet. Eventful day, no?
We shall see what other exciting things happen today. We expect to breathe, and eat two more meals, and take baths in the evening. Other than that.... Maybe we shall fight a couple of dragons, or some orcs, or Dr. Hugo Hollingshead (shivers!), or go treasure hunting, or see those-we-don't-speak-of, or play air violin, or scrapbook, or cook, or quarrel with our younger siblings.
You never know...
... and we certainly shan't tell you!
So, Goodbye!
...that was a really good post. I like the combination of F.B. and Samwise. I always have. Tolkein did a great job writing it, and you two do a great job impersonating it...I hope I don't get in trouble for that statement...:)
ReplyDeletePositively engaging, and yes. Great impersonation. I liked the conversational humor with touch of light sarcasm. o_o
ReplyDeleteAnd about that beef cooking class.... <_< >_>
....I'm rather sick of beef, meself...
Hi!
ReplyDeleteNow I know what you did!
